First point
Make your first point: explain what al-Qadr means and how it relates to Allah's eternal knowledge without removing human free will.
Second point
Make your second point: explain how the Hadith passage directly addresses whether belief in divine decree makes human effort pointless.
Third point
Make your third point: explain how al-Qadr encourages rather than discourages Muslims to pursue good deeds and charitable action.
'Belief in al-Qadr makes it pointless for Muslims to make efforts to live good lives.' Assess this statement. You should refer to the significance of the passage provided, using your own or others' views to support your answer.
Passage: refer to this in your answer
[The Prophet said], "There is none among you, and not a created soul, but has place either in Paradise or in Hell assigned for him and it is also determined for him whether he will be among the blessed or wretched." A man said, "O Allah's Apostle! Should we not depend on what has been written for us and leave the deeds as whoever amongst us is blessed will do the deeds of a blessed person and whoever amongst us will be wretched, will do the deeds of a wretched person (صلى الله عليه وسلم)" The Prophet said, "The good deeds are made easy for the blessed, and bad deeds are made easy for the wretched." Then he recited the Verses: "As for him who gives (in charity) and is Allah-fearing And believes in the Best reward from Allah (Surah 92:5-10)"

Writing guides
- 1Disagree: argue why al-Qadr, correctly understood, does not make effort pointless, use the Prophet's direct response in the Hadith passage.
- 2Further disagree: explain how al-Qadr gives Muslims hope and active motivation rather than fatalism, using the Prophet's recitation of Qur'an 92.
- 3Consider the opposing view: explain why some people think predestination leads to passivity, and why this remains a genuine theological challenge that Muslims must address.
